All Time MLB 2k12 Rosters

I am starting work on a Roster which will include the best players ever for each franchise. My goal is to eventually have at least 25 players for each team. I plan on doing a very in-depth roster so this could take some time as I will need to find scouting reports for each player that I put in. I'd like to know if there is any interest in this project and for your suggestions on who should be a part of each team.

A player is eligible for each team depending on which team he is inducted into the HOF for. For players not yet in the Hall of fame, whichever team they played the most for in their careers.

Any Help would be appreciated

Are you going to create a system for ratings or are you going to do it by a matter of conjecture? Also are you going to just create new players or are you going to edit existing players who match height and weight?

Right now I'm creating players and I'm not sure about the rating systems yet. Right now I'm doing it based on my own knowledge but I am looking up scouting reports and stats and things like that. If you can come up with a rating system that would be amazing.

I know this was your idea originally so are you interested in maybe splitting the work up a little?

Sure....I'll try and work on rough ratings....try and use baseball-reference.com...its a good barometer of stats, but My problem is accuracy with Tendencies and Pitch Types... I will do as much as I can without the game itself...im still working on that.

So far,my 99's overall are: Ted Williams, Cy Young, Babe Ruth, Mariano Rivera, Nolan Ryan, Roberto Clemente, Walter Johnson, and Willie Mays...If there are any others that should or shouldn't be on this list let me know.

I've got a rough overall rating for 25-man rosters....I used Whatifsports.com and baseball-reference.com for ratings....My xbox is broken right now so I can't actually help on the xbox so here it is...

I like the ratings and teams (with a few minor changes) but I think limiting yourself to an overall is bad. Its better to rate players by individual attributes rather than an overall. I plan on doing the starting lineup and pitchers first then do 25 man rosters and lastly edit all tendencies, equipment, etc.

I dont have a working xbox, so I'm trying to roughly guess how the ratings combined would turn out overall....And also I was wondering what the minor changes were you were thinking about.....Some teams were really difficult to choose for and some I couldn't fill to save my life.

While I'm familiar with Baseball and it's History, I'm no expert so the obvious changes I noticed were on my favorite team, the Marlins.
For Example:

Jermey Hermida has no buisness being on this team. Honestly, he was a terrible player in his Marlin's days.

Urbina, Beckett, Nenn, Hernandez, and Ivan Rodgriguez all played for other teams more than for the Marlins

As far as I know, there has never been a Marlin's player named Edger Alfonseca. I think you mean Antonio Alfonseca.

You're probably right..but I was trying to look at the 97 and 03 World Series Teams.... Hence Beckett urbina Hernandez and Pudge.... That being said I dont know as much about the Marlins as you do....so I defer to your judgement.

I can't do a whole lot with the game itself, but I can keep up with Actual ratings, not just the Overalls....Also I can work on tendencies, i.e Power Hitter, steal threat, power pitcher, etc. But I think that you could probably do the actual creation of the players, like their faces and heights and weights....if you can, try and use computer generated players that match up physically....Unfortunately I've been really busy so It might take a while...

So Here's my working idea for ratings.....Using my favorite team the Boston Red Sox. The splits are Left Contact/Right Contact,etc.

What you did with the Red Sox there is great. If you can produce that for more teams. I will input all the data into the game so we can make a great roster.
