    Raising player awareness

I have been thinking about raising each players baserunning awareness all the way up because of how long it takes baserunners to change direction or to leave a base when tagging up on fly balls. It does make a difference but then all players would have the same baserunning awareness. Also, it would take awhile to change every players rating. What do you guys think?

It might well be an improvement. I'd suggest you edit two teams only to start, and then run some test games with them.

There are player ratings in these games that are best set within a particular range, due to the way in which they interact with the game engine. In the PES series for example, players have a form rating which, if set too low, causes players to be out of condition for too many games a season. I globally edited all players' form and maxed it out. It still affected their game condition, but nowhere near as drastically and therefore much more realistically.

You might find editing baserunning awareness ratings improves things in a similar manner. The only thing I'd watch for is that CPU players don't become psychic in the process. By that I mean CPU runners aren't automatically successful in taking 1-2 bases or even scoring each time there's a base hit.

      Re: Raising player awareness

I did a little bit of messing around with it yesterday just to see how it would play out. I think it is something that if people want to have quicker reaction times from their baserunners when changing direction, they can max every players baserunning awareness on their team. I don't think it needs to be done for CPU teams. I noticed that when tagging up to score I could get my player to start leaving the base right while the ball was being caught. The problem i noticed is that it takes just a little bit longer for baserunners to leave bases then it probably should because instead of just launching off the base, the runner pivots their feet and turns their body while still touching the base and then launches off the base. That animation seems to take longer than it should. As of now I don't see that baserunning awareness will fix that. I tried using automatic baserunning but that didn't seem any quicker when tagging on fly balls and I would rather control my runners.

I would suggest to wait for the patch that should come out this week which may (hopefuuly) fix the non responsive issue re: baserunning.

yea hopefully it will. This game is the most fun I've had with a baseball game in a long time. I know the patch probably won't fix everything but I'm hoping it will make the game even more fun to play.

It looks like the patch WILL address the baserunning issues. nice.
