Ooo! The graphics, gameplay, and lasting appeal scores took a huge hit! Even sound took quite a toll. This is the best sound I've ever heard in a game.

I had a feeling they would give MVP Baseball game of the year once again. And of course once again there credibility goes down to, IMO, a horrible review. Just so I don't sound biased I'll break there review down.

            Graphics
"The body's just don't look natural, especially thanks to some of the choppier animations."
What about the batting and pitching animations? All they mention in regards to animations is how bad the fielding ones are but they say nothing about the rest.

"This year the graphics have seen a slight upgrade."
A slight upgrade in graphics? Did they even see a screen shot for last year's game?

            Audio
I wish they would of mentioned the bad noise of the bat hitting the ball or even the dynamic crowd, but oh well.

            At the Plate
"Hitting overall is too easy, even on harder difficulties, but not so much so that it becomes an arcade game. It just isn't quite as realistic as it should be."
They know that there is sliders, right?

"One reason for this is likely the numerous options available. Baseball games rely on fine-tuning to create great balance. If you have a half-dozen different ways to pitch and hit, how can every single way possibly be balanced against one another? Options are great, but MLB 2K5 would benefit from choosing one option and making a great system around it."
Options? Sliders or what is he talking about?

Also Slam Zone, even though I think the feature is a bad idea and excuted poorly, I think the name is good and catchy.

MVP is the one with new mini-games not MLB...

"There stil some serious issues, particularly with AI"
He is right (im assuming wild pitches?) but he didn't mention anything about what specifically is wrong.

Dude it's just a review, and his opinion at best. You have the game and like so who care's. He's making his points about the game that he may have liked and not liked, your defending the like it's you girlfriend or somthing, a 8.5 is a good score in my book. Take it easy.

                    Re: IGN Review

WOW, that review does not make me want to go out and get this game. For as high a score as it got (8.5) it seemed to be a rather negative review. The guy didn't really go into a lot of detail either, specifically gameplay. No real talk about how the CPU plays the game( do they attempt steals, hit & runs, intentionally walk when appropriate, stuff like that. That was not a very good review IMO.

I don't really care about the score or the review in general I just thought I would point out some stuff. For being payed to write that I think it deserves critiscizm. (sp?) Also some of the stuff I pointed out wasn't an opinion. (MLB doesnt have mini-games, not making sense in a paragraph, not mentioning the AI bugs and a few other things I failed to talk about and also his points about hitting being too easy when it can be adjusted with sliders)

That's because it's hillary. Him and Jon Robinson are the worst writers at IGN, they really need to get some neutral guys in there.

The guy didn't really go into a lot of detail either, specifically gameplay. No real talk about how the CPU plays the game( do they attempt steals, hit & runs, intentionally walk when appropriate, stuff like that. That was not a very good review IMO.
