    MLB 2K7 GM/Franchise Mode

With all the talk being about how much the gameplay must be "re-tuned" what do the masses know about tweaks to the GM/Franchise modes?

Only thing I have heard about is a more "Economic" budget system and some sort of rumor mill addition.

If I pop in MLB 2K7, start a GM mode, and within two months of a season see managers fired (like in MLB 2K6) I am gonna be pissed. I remember in a franchise I was playing in MLB 2K6 that the Mets fired Willie Randolph, after about 3 months of the season went by, and the Twins fired Ron Gardenhire. Essentially the managers just switched leauges w/ Randolph going to the Twins and vice versa. This kind of stupid crap is gonna put my MLB game on the "used" shelf at my local EB Games.

Please... If anyone has some inside info, or an addition which I overlooked please share.

sorry ive never finished a single season in MLB 2K6.
whats the difference between franchise and GM mode? From what i could tell, the only difference is that you get to name your GM and have goals like release a certain player by whenever in GM mode.

also is it just a season long or does it continue for multiple seasons like 30 seasons etc.?

GM goes for like 20 or 30 seasons. I only played about 3 seasons before I could'nt take anymore of MLB 2K6. The GM is kinda fun... That was the only thing I liked about 2K6. Although the frequent CPU trading got on my nerves. Hopefully that has been toned down. Try GM out though it gives you a little more to do than just a Franchise.

For me, in ANY sports franchise, player progression is the most important part of any franchise. That was my one gripe with MVP 05. Player progession wasn't based of stats, but just age.

trades need to be geared around stats moreso than just using ratings as well... I had a relief pitcher in MVP 05 and he threw submarine 96 MPH!!! that's pretty freakin incredible, and then he had a 69 MPH curve... it was pretty impossible to hit I have to say. However, since the curve didn't have much in the movement rating category, and the fastball wasn't super-accurate... this dude's rating was pretty low and couldn't even be traded for some backup hitters.

If a team was to watch this guy in action and see how damn tough it was to hit him, they would be drooling over him. This guy was good enough for me to offer a player like Derek Jeter or Jermaine Dye. He was that good.

You guys are right about progression too...

I was using the Phillies (of course) on an MLB 2K6 GM mode, and I was doing good with older guys like Abreu or Gordon but becuz they were over 30 or 35 they were declining. However, I was putting up career numbers for them, but since they weren't in the early-mid 20's they were not progressing at all.
