Re: Major League Baseball 2K8 - Trading Card Feature
Definitely going to take a while to unlock everything. 473 cards means a lot of different tasks. Some look absolutely rediculous, but should add an extra challenge to the game.
Record a save with Huston Streat...easy.
Hit for the cycle with Mark Ellis...ouch.
I can tell this list is old as it is in team order, but hasn't been updated to reflect most moves. Dan Haren, Nick Swisher and Mike Piazza are still in the A's section. I wonder if their cards will refelct them in an A's uniform or if they will be updated with roster updates.Last edited by Trevytrev11; 02-29-2008, 03:57 PM. -

Count me in as one of those that didn't like this feature at first. But the more I read about it the more I like it as an added challenge to playing the games."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I can see it becoming addictive once you actually force yourself to get into it, but I can see me not missing it if I just kind of forget about it from the get go....which way to go???Comment

Seems like a pretty cool feature I guess. Something to collect and work towards at the very least.Comment

Hopefully, I'll be able to come to OS and find someone to trade cards with on XBOX live. I don't play with that many teams so I won't earn many of the other cards.PSN: PhiNuPi

I really don't think this feature is anything I'll pay attention to. I plan on spending a majority of my time playing a franchise w. the Yanks, I don't see how I'll ever unlock other cards."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Well, you could always go for Special Edition Card Pack #26
(Play a Franchise with the Highest Payroll Possible and yet still somehow not win a World Series for seven consecutive seasons)
That should be an easy one.

Might as well go for the gusto at that point and aim for 86 years without one."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: Major League Baseball 2K8 - Trading Card Feature
So, I'm guessing no one is in to the card collecting aspect. I'm thoroughly addicted to it, but long to play as Dwight Evans or Fred Lynn. The press release gave a huge list of historical players and they are no where to be found. I'm woried I'm just an idiot and can't find them due to my idiocy.Comment
