Go back to the traditional controls and focus on improving the realism of franchise mode, building a team and stadium is just as fun as playing, take a cue from the popularity of fantasy sports. I just want a smooth and realistic experience without a bunch of fancy graphics slowing everything down!
I think in the era of the 360 and PS3 we should be able to get 60fps AND great graphics....why would we settle for less? By the way, there was a baseball game in 08 that did 60fps with great graphics.....

Sliders allow players to tune the "ease" of Total Control Pitching. If a player can't throw consistent quality pitches on the easiest setting, they deserve to get lit up.

Re: The MLB 2K9 Developers Are Listening

I have a top ten list (in no particular order) of things I want. If VC is able to deliver on all of these, I will be thrilled...

1. Smooth game engine (framerate, replays, etc.)
2. Updated and detailed play-by-play commentary
3. Glossier presentation in-game (replays, player portraits, etc.)
4. Livelier and more responsive crowd
5. Fine-tuned pitching and hitting mechanics (no radical changes)
6. Fewer franchise oddities and bugs
7. More signature styles
8. Updated and/or redone stadiums
9. Ability to turn off user pitch icon
10. Glossier user interface (out-of-game)

Re: The MLB 2K9 Developers Are Listening

1) The opportunity to create and edit 600 extra players...

2) Offer a "Face Tool" like The Show...

3) You choose the teams you want in your season, if you don't want to include the expansion teams you don't have to.
If you want your season to take place in 1956 you can.

4) A choice of every City, Stadium and uniform used in the history of each franchise.
So you can put Warren Spahn in his Milwaukee Braves City, Stadium and Uniform or the Boston Braves City Stadium and Uniform..
If you choose the Milwaukee Braves the announcer will announce appropriately " Milwaukee". Batting helmets will match..

5) The more announced names the better!
A few years ago I suggested that SECA should allow people that post on OS to be allowed to send in their last names.
I said why choose names out of a phone book?
Why not let the most passionate baseball fans who post on OS send in their last names.(a match made in heaven).
SCEA must have thought that it was a good idea because they ran with it!
It turned out to be a great success and everybody was a winner...

I think it might be too late for us to send our names in to 2K this year but why not think about this for next year...

Most pitchers that struggle with control miss off of the plate not down the middle. And nobody tries to throw a curveball and accidentally throws a 92MPH fastball.

I'll say it again, BRING BACK cursor hitting for people who actually want to play baseball and look to try hit fly balls or grounders in those situations when you need either of the 2.
