How about instead of making a separate GM game you guys just incorporate all of that stuff into MLB 2K9
Totally agree.

Also, please keep the Aerial View Fielding Camera as I think it's the best way to play defense. For Batting view, I don't like to see the pitcher virtually on top of the hitter, so I use a wide view with no zoom.

Re: The MLB 2K9 Developers Are Listening

-I want the crowd to go nutsss after a late inning/extra innings go ahead/walk off home run or hit or after a big strike out in pitching jams or ending the game.
-I want there to be a "Yankees Suck" chant at Fenway
-I want there to be standing ovations after a pitcher is taken out of the game or with 2 outs in the 9th inning, waiting for the last out.
-I want Opening Day to be new, with players running onto the field getting introduced, and whoever wins the world series the year before gets their rings. (for example; Philadelphia)
-I want more cut scenes, with player, fan, coach reactions after a call is made or a after a big hit/stolen base.
-I want fan attendence to be involved, like for the last place teams, there will be a lot of empty seats; when in BOS or NY it will most likely be a full house every game..
-More detail with the coaches, i think there was a post already put up about that.
-I want there to be standing ovations for a pitcher once he is taken out by the manager, or after getting a no hitter broken up.
-I want there to be those fans that are at a ballpark rooting for another team, giving high fives after their team puts a run on the board.
-I want the All Star Game to be more detailed. With player introduction running out onto the field from the dugout like opening day..and i want the all star game uniforms to be like they are now (team uniforms and hats. i think?) no NL or AL uniforms.
-I want a cut scene when you want to warm up a pitcher, and show him warming up in the bullpen.
-I want the POSTSEASON to be a complete change from the regular season. some stadiums have towels, Tampa Bay has cowbells, I want the fans to be louddd and crazyy after everything little happens (like a run scored, a strike out of a batter)
-I want there to be little press conferences from coach or player
-After winning a series CELEBRATIONS NEED TO BE BETTER AND LONGER. yeah after the divisional series, a lot of high fives, hugs, jumping up and down on the pitchers mound.
League championship, mobbing the field, some champagne "we're going to the world seriesssss!"
After winning the world series, I want the last out to be a cut scene, like position yourself to make a catch, or to make a ground ball then the game takes it from there, so that right when the out is made the player can react with his arms in the air, everyone jumps over the dugout fence, and mobs the mound. I want signs that say "We Believed" and then it cuts to the locker room with players jumping with champagne WITH championship hats and t shirts, spraying the drinks into the camera..some interviews with players that say "I'm so proud of all of these guys around me". going out on the field and spraying it onto the fans. then the mvp trophy and world series trophy.
-I want the post season fans to be the loudest you're audio could make it.
-This cut scene should be about 5 minutes long. I mean comeon we've played 162 games, it would be nice to sit back and watch all your hard work paying off with some celebration!

Now my all time wish for this baseball game would have to be..after winning a world series. i want there to be a celebration parade that goes throughout the city. Comeon, how sick would that be!

And I think it's unrealistic to expect it as well. In fact -- and I've said it before -- the reason so many games are now coming out in substandard, unfinished and even broken condition is because gamers keep demanding specialized, peripheral content of this sort.

It's bizarre when you really think about it. Baseball is maybe 75% pitcher versus batter, yet the focus of 2K's effort seems to be anything but getting that dynamic and game programming right. Just goes to show how much developers are trying to sell these games to the masses by including gimmicks and superfluous game content. And I suppose one can't blame them -- they're in it for the money, just like every other company and corporation.

I agree though, the entire "meatball" concept (as I've mentioned here countless times) is silly and arcade. Total Control Pitching would be great if tuned, but as is it's a mess.

I think so many are blinded by the false notion the R-Stick control is more revolutionary than button pressing, they forget pay attention to the results of the mechanic and focus only on the idea of the mechanic itself. I've got news for all the R-Stick monkeys out there...controlling the game with a stick is older than button pressing in terms of videogame chronology.

Again the concept (while not as revolutionary as people seem to think) is a nice shift from meters, aim and press, etc. However, it needs to be corrected before it can be considered a true selling point in the game, IMO.
Absolutely agree on both the meatball and the Swing Stick. Try explaining to someone how pressing a little plastic stick to swing a baseball bat is "more like real life" than pressing a little plastic button, and they'd probably respond with 2 minutes of uninterrupted laughter.

My point is that people need to remember this is a video game, and gamers tend to get so wrapped up in gimmicky controls and realism that they forget that playing a game will NEVER be akin to playing in real life. Therefore, I'd rather have a simple button press swing that WORKS as opposed to an elaborate swing stick mechanism that doesn't. Particularly when you're required to cue up said swing before the ball even leaves the pitcher's hand!

I see your point, but the back and forward motion on the swing stick cannot be replicated by a button press. Is the swing stick a perfect represenation of a swing? No, but it is more of a representation of the fact that to successfully hit a ball with power, a hitter must load up his hips. Button pressing is just letting the game handle the timing and act of the step and you just handle the swing.

Without a load in real life, hits would go nowhere. There aren't a lot of hitters out there that can do much with only their arms and a little upper body.

The stick gives the user more control over the outcome because instead of just timing a swing, you have to put both parts together. You control the shift of the momentum from back to forward instead of just the forward.

Again, not perfect at all, but to say it's not closer to what a hitter actually does is pretty far off, IMO. Plus the whole back to forward, visually and technically makes more sense. It could be like the original WSB 2K on the DC and use the press of the trigger to load and release to swing, but using the stick marries up a little better.

Me too. I want the batting controls of any of the games released 2k3-2k5.

Contact swing and power swing gets its own buttons. Pulling off the button after initial contact results in a check swing. This was done beautifully in the past. Bring it back. Otherwise this game will continue to lack "pick up and play" for new people that want to get into this.
