NEED HELP PLEASE :) - The Show vs. MLB 2K9

I was wondering if you all could help me out. I recently bought a Playstation 3 with a basketball game and want to pre-order one of the 2 baseball games about to come out.

I have heard many bad things about MLB2K8 and was wondering if everyone would recommend going with MLB The Show 2009?

I do not use online play however I am a HUGE fan of dynasty modes and making players.

I also have XBox 360. If you would recommend one platform over the other, I'd love to hear from you.

The Show series > MLB2k series

Any game that is multiplatform created before this year get on 360.

If you have a PS3 and 360 then pre-order the show 09 for the PS3. I would wait for some 2K info before making a decision on that game. Either way, you are sitting pretty good with both systems.

I want to be pleasantly surprised with MLB 2k9 like I was with NHL 2k9. I thought that game was going to be horrible. Even though it wasn't an EA game (:wink, I still had fun with it.

lol...I think we all want to be pleasantly surprised by 2K9 (well, most of us anyway). Still doesn't hurt to know that there will be at least one solid baseball title for sure.

2K9 sounds more and more promising as the information leaks out. The trouble is, there is an overall shallow feed. Hopefully as the info ramps up, we'll see some encouraging things.

After seeing last years version of The Show, and watching the Yankee Stadium vid I don't even think 2k should ship their game out. After thinking 2k was great for 3-4 years now I am buying a PS3 simply for The Show.

SCEA just released the 1st two videos of The Show 09 as well as Franchise info. The videos are breathtaking and the Franchise info is mind boggling. 40-Man rosters in Spring Training and September, arbitration, Rule V draft, waivers, draft in June, etc. Great stuff.

2K just released a video of embarassing proportions.

There really is no question as to which game to get. The Show 08 was one of the best baseball games of all time. MLB 2K8 was unplayable garbage. Get The Show.

Until 2K proves that they can put out a baseball game that runs smoothly and has good gameplay, there is no reason for it to be more than a rental for people with both 360's and PS3's.

yeah the two videos released for the show today prove that the show is better than 2k9....sucks that i will be stuck with 2k9...hopefully the game is playable at least

How does that prove the show is better? I mean don't get me wrong it will probably be the better game, but no one has even seen so much as a screen shot of 2k9.

well i look at it from a marketing standpoint.... if 2k really wanted to show that their product is being turned around then they would have started out with images and videos weeks ago to build up the hype. They know they lost the baseball sim battle last year to the show and they need to win back the confidence of alot of customers. I have been a loyal 2k supporter for a while and I will buy 2k9 most likely this year because frankly, i cant drop 500 bucks to get a ps3. All im trying to say is that it worries me that we arent seeing anything because maybe it is a sign that things are not good and they are not confident in their product.

People are probably going by what they saw from last year. I couldnt see 2k9 being better then The Show but I think it will improve significantly over 2k8 (if the framerate in 2k8 was fixed, 2k8 would be considered good)

I have both systems and The Show is the game to get. 2K took a huge step backward last year. 2K7 was solid and 2K8 was junk.

The videos don't do The Show justice. The PS2 version of The Show played better than 2K on any next gen console.

I, like others, are hoping 2K rights the ship. My concern is that they have released very little information and the game releases in less than two months.

The last two games to have this little information out prior to release was NBA Live 07 and MLB 2K8 and we all know how those games came out.

It concerns me that 2K may be hiding a product that isn't ready. I have read in forums that they are holding off until Front Office Manager releases which makes absolutely zero sense.

The Show does so many of the little things well, right down to the out of town scoreboards posting real scores during career mode.

It will be interesting to see if 2K releases a demo this year before the release date. It was suspected the reason they did not do this last year was because of the frame rate issues.

I am fortunate enough to have both systems and normally buy both baseball games. This year The Show is a no brainer buy while I will wait and see on 2K9. I like 2K and want them to succeed but they are going to have to do a bit better with their baseball game for me to make that purchase this year.
