Major League Baseball 2K9 Video: Mets @ Phillies Top 1st

We've just posted another Major League Baseball 2K9 video. This one features the Mets @ Phillies, in the top of the 1st. More videos to come.

Funny, I saw the video up a few hours ago and regarded it as already having its own thread. I don't have any personal comments on it... but I would have created a thread if I knew there wasn't one already.

    Thanks for doing this, Steve.

Thanks for all you're hard work, Steve. I appreciate it!

Presentation looks great, but we've established that already. My biggest concern continues to be the willingness of CPU hitters to swing at everything.

Thanks for the video. Two more flyballs and an absolutely scalded one hopper that would have been a sure single if hadn't have been hit directly at the SS. Hopefully there's a slider to tone this down. After watching 7-8 videos, every hit in this game is either a flyball or a smoked liner.

            Looked great.
I thought Castillo worked the count pretty good.

            Shaping up nicely!

I've noticed this as well. So far, the physics in this game (including running speed and what not) are a real turn-off for me to actually buy this game, but the other things that are impressing me at least give me much hope for 2K10.

I honestly wasn't expecting too much out of this year, though I did expect a physics overhaul. Turns out it didn't happen.

                Yes.. thanks Steve!

I really love how the game flows.. both presentation wise and with the commentary.

I'm liking the game overall. Does the throw meter for fielders work? About 2/3's through that video the RF picked up the ball and threw a rocket to second even though the meter barely crept up.

I like the overall look of the game, but a few things stand out.

As baa7 mentioned, everything looks to be hit very hard. Hopefully that is tweakable with sliders.

The animation transitions at end of tplay are pretty poor. Gys just sort of snap from crouch back up.

I don't llike the way the outfielders crow hop on every throw back to infield and how they gun it regardless of how far away they are from cutoff man/base.

The length of the bats seem too big. Could just be camera perspective but they seem overly long.

Don't like the face renditions at all...and this game uses alot of closeups.

Infielders seem almost to throw one way while the ball goes another. On a dp It looked like the ss was throwing home but the ball went to first as it should.

I love the look of the game, colors, crowd, stadiums, camera work, etc. Hoping some of these issues get tweaked before the game drops.

We'll @ least Castillo worked the count some. I also like that Steve missed a couple of his gestures & the ball didn't go straight down the middle & went outside of his target.

There was one vid showing a throw from right-center by the CF that got to third on one hop, and bounced so hard and high it would have ended up in the stands if the third baseman hadn't snagged it. As I watched it I thought, "Blzer ain't gonna like this when he sees it."

Some videos do show a greater variety of contact, but I agree; a lot of balls appear to be hit "hard." It is better than 2K8, but still not perfect.

I'm going to peek at the OS screen shots of all the sliders to see what could be "tweakable."

The game looks very nice; the presention is fabulous.

At this point, my big concern is whether we can tone down the flyballs and scorchers. Oh, and the State Farm billboard VC erected in Wrigley: that's horrible.
