Re: ***Official MLB 2K9 Retail Version Impressions***

Whoever has the game, I have a quick question about the rosters.

Is it like last year where pretty much all the "fake" minor leaguers have the same first and last initial as their real life counterpart? For example, in the Red Sox organization is there someone with the initials L.A. for Lars Anderson, D.B. For Daniel Bard, J.R. for Josh Reddick, etc.

Just curious, cause if not I'm not even going to consider renaming the minors like I did last year.

Padgoi has the game, and if he chooses to do so, this is where he will be giving impressions and answering questions.

EDIT: He will be at work until 5:30, then he has some stuff to do and will be on after that to give impressions.

i'm not sure how the ai works in the game but that doesn't seem like a very good test, i mean if i never swing then the cpu will likely just start throwing strikes all the time wouldn't it? it would seem more likely that if i were to swing at a lot of balls then the cpu would throw more balls instead of strikes.

Yeah, I agree. I think it was just to demonstrate that the CPU does throw balls on default difficulty settings, unlike 2K8 was last year.

Re: ***Official MLB 2K9 Retail Version Impressions***

yeah even with taking every strike they did throw plenty of balls. as for the fielding quirks i've read about in this thread has there been any mention of the patch and if it will correct any of this?

These fielding bugs were probably my biggest problem with the demo. They happened way too often. Hopefully the patch does something about them.

Re: ***Official MLB 2K9 Retail Version Impressions***

For those that have the game, is it worth buying? I have the show already and my game dude just called me up and said he got 2k9 today. The show will be my sim game, but the demo of 2k9 is pretty fun. More of a arcade type feel. Should I buy 2k9?
