If they fix the hitting you wont be disappointed. It'll be a very good game.

UGH! Just played another 9 inning game on pro. Looks like the AI pitching is broke too. I was the Yankees against the Astros (Roy Oswalt). The Stros threw 75 pitches in the game ONLY 5 WERE STRIKES. And I tried to remain patient. They just painted corners on me all game long. I see in another thread bigfnjoe may have resolved this with his sliders. Ill have to give them a shot.

On the flip side, AI hitting, same deal, they probably took 3 strikes the entire game. You cannot even fool the batters. i would try to jam them inside with fastballs, then come back with a back door slider or a back door breaking ball or throw a change up low and away and they are just not fooled by it.

Amazing that the developers neglect the heart and soul of the sport like this.

the painted the corners right out of the box in 2k8 too. If i remember correctly turning the CPU Pitching Inside Edge OFF fixed the problem. So maybe try turning the slider to 0?

That pretty much sells it for me. I'll probably wait until this is confirmed, but I am too much of a baseball fan to avoid this game. I can deal with all of the other issues.

Re: ***Official MLB 2K9 Retail Version Impressions***

I just played my first online game and it played smooth but it was a homer fest

i hit 6 and the other guy hit 5

i was winning 17-10 in the ninth when he quit

i gave up most runs early but settled in...i bet with the right set of online sliders for leagues...this game can be tons of fun

I was able to unlock 5 achievements in that online game alone

LOL

I love both games this year....this game is a must for guys who enjoy baseball

Have you been able to hit home runs without holding the left stick up (default batting controls)? From playing the demo, I got the impression that pressing up on the left stick yielded either a home run or flyout, pressing down was a liner or groundout, and not touching the left stick yielded hits to mid-field.
