Re: ***Official MLB 2K9 Retail Version Impressions***

This sounds pretty promising thanks to Guru! I mean we all had high hopes here, and they have been somewhat dashed, but if you don't care about editing stances and windups (i don't), you don't care about specific patches on away uniforms, ect. (i don't), and there is playable reduction in lag online (here's hoping), this could be a nice little spring gem.

What do you think Guru, does this play well enough to last over the season, or do you think you'll be dropping after a month?

i guess if you lower the pitch speed then you have a chance to use zone hitting

but i find it not sim like and not implemted well at all
guru i dont understand? does that mean yes? where the ball hits on the bats is true to real life/physics (show or 2K)

I dont know...is to hard to even bother with...i mean if you lower pitch speed then you might have a chance to put that huge annoying bat target in the spot...

i think is a weak method for hitting...is not really you having skills..is you moving a bat graphic to the spot of the ball...that to me is more like a RPG then a baseball game...

I was not able to reach quick enough to do all that moving and then swinging...sorry..

Re: ***Official MLB 2K9 Retail Version Impressions***

I just tried it again...and I was batting with Damon...facing 97 mph heat from King Felix of the Mariners is no joke

the bat graphic cursor pops up right before the pitcher throws the ball and you have to move it to the spot where you see the ball going...but when the ball comes in that fast...you have zero chance...

LOL..I struck out on 3 swings...

You must first move the bat cursor to the spot where you see the ball going and then swing...that is horrible

they both have nice hitting physics....but the show looks nicer due to the sweet animations...it just looks amazing

but in terms of pitching physics there is no comparison...this game is the best..

the ball feels like it has weight to it...and when you throw it to the batter...you feel like you threw a hard ball..

in the show i dont feel that...
