Re: ***Official MLB 2K9 Retail Version Impressions***

-- Griffey and O-Dogg start in the FA pool, but the rosters themselves are pretty cool - seems as they got all the "spring invitees" on the right teams.

-- End of game recap is pretty cool too. They show the player of the game, box score, highlights of certain players on each team..

-- I do not know who in the world they used as a "likeness" of Cito Gaston, but I know the 2k9 version does not look like him at all..

-- Overall, I enjoyed the games I played -- just need to tinker a little bit.

-- another "odd thing" -- it seems as that if the leadoff guy gets on, the next batter goes to bunt -- happened in both games I played so far..

I really like the cursor/zone hitting in the game, but the pitch speed has to be at 100 in All Star level. I've been struggling at the plate when playing with weak hitting teams. I think for gamers that want a challenge cursor hitting is perfect, and contrary to what others have said it feels very realistic.

However, I still can't fix the AI hitting who swings at every strike. There aren't enough sliders as 2K8 to fix this bug. Hopefully VC fixes this since overall this is near perfect simulation baseball experience.

Is there any problem with outfielders' speed getting to fly balls? I had some trouble with this in the demo. And the outfielders seemed to slow down a little. Maybe I wasn't hitting the right button for acceleration. Or maybe adjusting the fielder speed option (I believe there is one) will solve this. Any issues so far?

O.K. been playing for a few hours;

Pitching IS awesome. I adjusted the camera view to 6-4-6 (maybe 7-4-6,anyway) turned off the vibration, strike zone and ball trail.

Before each batter, I check their IE scouting report.( D pad right)

saw what they didnt like and what location. I then saw guys taking pitches and being more selective. This is on all star default btw...

sure they could pass on a cockshot a little more, but I am confident that this could be ironed out to my satifaction at least.

Look I was thinking what most of us here were thinking, Deciding to buy a ps3 just for the show.It is the prettiest baseball game Ive seen, but I own a 360 and this game (To me anyway) Is a blast,Do not rely on these posts to make or break you. there is a excellent game here.

Re: ***Official MLB 2K9 Retail Version Impressions***

also, i don't know if this happened to you guys but...

on a few occasions, when i would throw to first the runner would be safe when i clearly beat the runner

and

when i would go for a fly ball and wait for it, it would drop right next to me or over me.

not only has this happened to me, it has happened to a online player and the cpu.
