Is cursor hitting the same thing as zone hitting?

All I want to know is, if you push the stick for an outside pitch, but then let go of it - willl the cursor return to the middle (like I think it should) or is it like etch-a-sketch so that it stays where ever it's placed (sort of like a fps)?

No, the cursor does not retract to it's original position if you let go of the stick.

that's extremely dissapointing to me...usually it's not for such small things for me, but that is just strange to me. I'll probably pick this up today, but there's no way I'm doing cursor hitting like that I'd rather drop the bat in a location where I anticipate the ball rather than trying to 'shoot' it like a fps.

I've searched but not sure I found the definite answer.

I read the patch fixes online issues, etc etc but does it in fact fix the FA bugs.

I've suffered through 2k now on the 360 forever. The frozen game of 07, the stutter of 08, the whatever of 06.

I actually enjoyed 08 post patch last year, was just curious because I need my baseball fix

Thanks.

I havent played long enough in the Franchise mode to confirm whether or not the bug is fixed, but according to 2K, this initial patch was intended on fixing the Franchise bug.

Re: ***Official MLB 2K9 Retail Version Impressions***

Well I'm praying that I'll like the cursor hitting. This is the main reason I bought the game. If the ball off the bat is realistic I have no problems with only having a split second to get the bat to the ball. I do wish the bat would snap back to the middle if you let go of the stick (like Power Pros) but I can live without that.
