Great, can't wait for your review. Can't imagine why they didn't send you a copy though.

We get the point, stop trolling the threads now.

Re: ***Official MLB 2K9 Retail Version Impressions***

Just finished first game, Cubs at Cards. Came away very impressed, but a few notes.

-Carp is a beast. Khalil Greene sucks. Very realistic so far.
-Busch Stadium is beautiful, but what amazes me even more is that all of the background scenery is right on with the buildings and old city hall. If nothing else 2k really did their homework on the setting.
-Announcing is really good. There are a few times where it's a bit off, and it actually can be quite striking because I feel so absorbed the rest of the time. Gary Thorne was a great decision.
-Overall the gameplay is pretty smooth. What slowdown that does exist primarily occurs in non-gameplay events. There was one issue of slowdown on a popup.
-A couple of fielding errors that maybe shouldn't have happened, but nothing like what Falcon described with the 1st baseman (or it could be Greene sucking).
-However, TLR doesn't look much like TLR. Not really a distraction or a complaint, just find it funny. They should have added old man glasses.
-And another thing I wasn't aware was in the game. The lighting and time will change, as the game went from late afternoon to night with the lighting and shadows changing appropriately.

Final spread wound up being:

CHC 0 8 1
STL 2 8 1

Carp went 7.1 with 5 Ks (3 I believe were looking). I'm also noticing that the catcher is much smarter than the demo seemed to be, as he'll make better pitch calls that actually can result in Ks. I'm not sure if the computer was "overly aggressive" in swinging or not, maybe in part of 2k9, in part because the Cards pitchers aim for groundball outs, I don't know. But Carp held the Cubs to 4 hits until the 8th inning when he started to lose it.

Ludwick was player of the game, going 4-4 w/ 2 HR. One HR was "induced" (hitting up on L-stick), one wasn't. I didn't try stealing with anyone...cause I was the Cardinals.

All in all, I was very impressed. I'll obviously have to play a lot more games and what not, but I am so far very happy with it. The game does play well, and even the fielding seems to work for me. The pitching is probably the best thing though. 12-6 curve is going to be my favorite pitch, I can already tell.

I wish the outfielders wouldn't run in random directions when trying to field fly balls.

is your throw in the green?

JonahFalcon might appear to be complaining, but he is right. My first baseman forget where the bag is at least twice per game. It is frustrating but overall I would recommend this game. Hopefully a patch or two will take care of some issues.
