No, I was talking about when a fastball is thrown and the batter takes the pitch, the ball changes into this big ball of green light.

A quick question about created players: Is there a generated player photo that shows up when your at bat, lineup screens etc, or is it the generic silhouette?

That would be me. It's the main reason why I'm buying this game, I've never had a baseball game where you can control all 30 teams in franchise, edit ratings and make sure contracts are accurate. Even if everything else sucks, I just got to have it because of the those things, lol

Since they seem to have taking a few things out of 2k9, which is sad, have they screwed around with one of the best championship celebrations in a sports game?

How is the world series celebration? You can go to the playoffs mode and find out by doing a quick sim.
