aight so i havent played a baseball game since 2k7 on my 360 it was aight but nothin that blew me away. I wanna start playing again and re learn the game i guess you could say. I now have a ps3 and i need someones opinion. should i go with 2k9 or the show 09. ive heard some good n bad things about both but i'm not too sure. i don't really play online although i might every now and then.....if someone or a few people can help me out i'd appreciate it...i'm looking to pick one of em up when i get off work and i'll be here till 430 thanks

If you can only pick one, I'd go with The Show. It's a much more complete experience. I've been playing 2k9 for a few days and while it can be a fun game, it needs fixing.
I'd suggest downloading both demos and seeing for yourself.

I think alot depends on your style of baseball game tendencies. My favorite games in the last 10 years or so have been High Heat and then MVP '05. I've had a 360 since launch and so I've always played the 2K series. I am a huge baseball fan, and although enjoyable I always felt 2K just came up short each year.
Finally this year I decided I had had enough and so I bought a PS3 a couple weeks ago just to d/l and play the show demo. Since then I have been hooked and my eyes opened to how great baseball games can be again.
So I would say if you LOVED games like High Heat & MVP '05 like I did, no question The Show is the way to go.Comment

sounds good, i was kinda leaning towards the show i downloaded both demos and 2k9 just felt like the same game to me from 2k7, the show suprised me but i just wanted to see what some other people think...thanks for the advice guys, my psn is breakinfools if you ever wanna get a game of the show in.Comment

I am one of the very few people who own a ps3 and actually prefer 2k baseball each year for my 360. the show looks awesome (i wish 2k had their graphics - but not body types), but I cant get into the button and meter pitching and hitting. too old school, I dont really find it fun. but yes it is smooth and does everything else probably better except for crowds and commentary.
all this being said, in no way in good conscience can I recommend you go with 2k over the show. I was actually angry at all short comings, bizzare design decisions and AI issues -- but once I got over the inititial dissappointment I realize that I will definitely enjoy this game a lot if the AI hitting can be corrected. for now it will sit, collect dust, and wait for the patch. I just hope VC comes through with an adequate patch.
try both demos again, and if you dont really like 2k a lot more...then go with the show. its a safer bet..Comment

Get the Show.
I'd also suggest getting 2K9 for the pc so you can have the best of both worlds for only $20 more.
