Re: Official MLB 2K10 Impressions (360/PS3)

I am not noticing any of this manual fielding stuff.. Maybe I will watch more closely.

Ok, glad to hear I'm not going crazy! I don't notice it either.

There is no way that rosters are going to take away the auto fielding the AI does. What his rosters do is slow the game down, possibly giving you the feel that you're using the fielders longer I guess...and thus have the feel of a little more control, at least on ground balls. Anything in the air you can just go grab a sandwich :P.

Tomba...if this game had a season mode, your rosters would be the ****. Have you e-mailed your work to Ron2k or anyone over at 2k? They might be able to use what you've started with here...either to tweak their engine, or the ratings of players in a future roster.

Either way at this point...everyone's just waiting on the patch haha.

I'll vouch for Tomba's roster being really great. And for use in MLB Today, they are frickin' perfect.

Too bad they really don't work in franchise, and the game lacks a simple season mode.

I didnt say the rosters changed anything.. infact I dont use any custom rosters. What I meant was I have never noticed my fielders doing their own thing.

Agreed.

It's kinda in that middle area between sim, and a game like NHL Hitz.

It's got stats, it's got fun gameplay....but it's missing the realism in certain areas to consider it a sim.

That said, it's as enjoyable to "play" as my copy of The Show 08 is.

I'm not a huge baseball fan, so maybe that's why i can look past the flaws and just enjoy it as a fun baseball game with fun mechanics.

It gets the fun right, but it misses on a whole lot of the little things.

That doesn't keep me from enjoying Matt Kemp jacking the ball out of the park against the SF Giants.

Fun game...but flawed.

The lack of check swings and fielding control is complete bs though.

Can't wait to see how next year's version turns out.

Why don't they work for franchise mode?
