Re: Official MLB 2K10 Impressions (360/PS3)

I really like how 2k put in the avatar rewards. My avatar now has a 2k batting helmet that I earned through playing the game.

That is much better than regular achievements and much much much better than paying for avatar items.

I really hope more games do this.

thanks man.
I'm not sure, wasn't really paying attention as most of the games have been really close and I was lost in the excitement. I can give you the stats from the 4 games it's recorded (turned off auto-save so I'm missing some results):

35 hits
23 singles
7 doubles
1 triple
4 HRs

and the AI

21 hits
20 singles
1 double

Looking ok for me but the AI can only seem to hit singles.
I can tell it didn't record my Yanks/Sox game but I think they had 2 doubles in that one, still kinda low.

lol @ the humongous looking numbers on the back of the jersies...still cracks me up

still, they deserve a lot of credit for improving this game in many areas

Re: Official MLB 2K10 Impressions (360/PS3)

I just played my 2nd game on the 360. Both of my games went 17 innings!!! Both games I picked the Yankees and both games I won 3-2! I saw my 1st error, Adam Jones dropped a fly ball in center field. Overall, I enjoy playing this game. My big problems are pitch count( letting pitchers in to long) Millwood went 12 innings and threw 133 pitches. I like the show better but this is a good change of pace game. If they put out 1 decent patch this game could almost be on par with the Show 10!

Re: Official MLB 2K10 Impressions (360/PS3)

I finally played the demo

I actually enjoy the pitching and its much easier compared to previous 2k games which i was terrible at.
I'll admit i'd prefer to keep it simple with meter pitching like in mvp and mlb series, but this is much more detailed and challenging.

I also like the swing stick variety options, similar to 2k8
I havent bought 2k9, would spending $10 on it be even worth it?

in 2k10 I hate the throwing meter for position players, you cant have a variety of throws, and ebery player it seems has an ichiro suzuki type arm strength. I also didnt care for the auto fielding, once the player enters the black circle area you cant do anything

Kinda OT, would anyone rank the best to worst games from mlb 2k7 - 2k10?
I played 2k8 the other day and it isnt that bad.
I still probably wouldnt buy 2k10 until it drops in price, its not a perfect game but we are finally having improvements

I have to say, it's probably the most fun I've had with a baseball game since MVP2005.

The gesture pitching is incredibly fun and addictive. So far, I saw a couple of flaws that have already been mentioned 1000x, but there's no mistaking how entertaining this game is.

I really don't think this game is that far off from the same stratosphere that the other game is on.
In fact, if I buy a ball game this year it'll probably be 2K10.
And that is all that matters. Glad you like it bro. And I enjoyed ready your impressions.

Re: Official MLB 2K10 Impressions (360/PS3)

Mariners

Hernandez: 9 IP,6 H,0 R,6 SO
Lee: 9 IP,0 R,10 SO (no idea on the hits, box score for extra innings appears to be glitched)
Rowland-Smith: 1 IP,2 H,2 SO,0 R
Snell: 3 IP,3 H,3 SO,1 R

O's

Tillman: 12 IP,12 hits,0 R,2 BB,6 SO
Johnson: 2 IP (he was the one left off theirs like Lee was left off mine)
Gonzalez: 6.2 IP,2 R (they were his runners),4SO
Meredith: 0.1 IP
Sarfate: 0.0 IP,1 H (Griffy walkoff single in the bottom of the 22nd,was almost a walkoff grandslam but it went foul.)

Yup it's a lot better than 2K9.

yea, thats what i have been seeing.
i am sure they can patch it, possibly make the ball more lively?
it seems to die out quickly.

plus the ball seems to rubberband to the player when they throw it
