Has work on 2K11 Begun?
Well, today is the final day of August, which going by the March release date the MLB 2K games have been keeping...that means there are only 6 months left. I'm really hoping 2K has started work on the next game...if not, I can't imagine how having less than 6 months would be enough time to turn out a quality game, even using 2k10 as a starting point. Anybody have any insight?Tags: None -

Re: Has work on 2K11 Begun?
Has there been any word from the devs on features or whatnot? For some reason I seem to remember hearing a lot more about the games this close to release date...or maybe I'm impatient.Comment

This close to release date? I doubt you'll hear anything at least until the time of the World Series. Then maybe they'll give a snippet of info or two. The current season is still going on, so they're still riding 2k10 for now. If they start releasing info now, those people getting baseball fever won't run out and buy 2k10, they'll hold off for 2k11. So I'd say late October you'll get something.Twitter - WTF_OS

I agree with you about the fielding aspect of the game. The animations are not realistic most of the time. Also, they need to do something about the player's legs cause the faster guys like Brett Gardner, Jose Reyes, Curtis Granderson, etc.. with thin legs have tree trunk legs in the game.Comment

Re: Has work on 2K11 Begun?
And 2K has been much more tight-lipped the last few years, if I remember correctly.
I'm expecting basically the same game, with some improvements to fielding. With the layoffs and the way sales are, I don't see them investing in any new features.
And honestly, 2K10 was darn close to what we wanted. And extra 12 months of development would have done them well. So I hope they just polish 2K10.
If they do add features, it is going to bork the development in favor of bullet points on the box. Then we will all be complaining like we have the last few years.
So really, I just want MLB 2K10.5. 2K10.75 would work, too.Comment

I agree with you, but I also think they should improve the appearance of the game. It just needs work. It's on the bland side in my opinion. And 2K has been much more tight-lipped the last few years, if I remember correctly.

I'd be happy with that. 2K10 is a really good foundation, so if they just tweak a few things and polish it, I'd definitely buy it.And 2K has been much more tight-lipped the last few years, if I remember correctly.

Re: Has work on 2K11 Begun?
I agree, all 2k11 have to do is have....
1) injuries
2) errors
3) more fluid fielding
4) dynamic attendance
5) get rid of that awful flash after pitches
6) more uniform options
7) add to MLB Today
8) have all the photos cap match
Do that and i'm sold, they did a good job with 2k10, and i'm really looking forward to mlb2k11.Comment

Guys keep in mind that Visual Concepts has only been with the MLB 2k franchise for a year and a half of development cycle and look how it has improved. I feel that VC will come through in 2k11. Redo all fielding and it's going to get interesting.NBA2K is the standard of sports games period.Comment
