MLB 2K11 Official "My Player" Thread
It is a little early, and a mod can lock this as he sees fit, but I liked reading through it last year and thought it may as well come back this year.

Re: MLB 2K11 Official "My Player" Thread
Hopefully this year we don't get a direct choice as to what club we want to play for, because honestly I'd rather be drafted. But I'm planning on making multiple players, first being a CIF/OF if thats possible. I would love to be an all around UT player, because thats basically how I roll in real life. I'm also wanting to make a SP or CL, just because the pitching is so damn fun.

Re: MLB 2K11 Official "My Player" Thread
I hope it's not like last years. I hated how everything come to you and the game didn't play as natural. I love the center fielder position, but the AI always hit ground ball to me and the scored a lot because the 2B or SS didn't attempt to make a play on the ball. I realized that 1B was the only position you could stop the AI from scoring, because they always hit the ball to you and it was an easy out.
But I want to make a freak center fielder. Big and fast like Calvin Johnson (for robbing and stealing bases), but with some slugging power.Comment

That's probably what I'll end up doing if there isn't a draft, either that or use the random team button that was there last year. One issue with least year's game was the fact that you never had a chance at getting traded, or even not signing with your current team to go to another.

You could request trades last year, but I agree with you that there also needs to be the options of being traded without you requesting it (and even no-trade clauses in your contracts) and also choosing to become a free agent. That's probably what I'll end up doing if there isn't a draft, either that or use the random team button that was there last year. Yeah, I did that last year, shortly before I stopped playing it. I just felt like it was poorly implemented, because if I remember right I just kinda got teleported onto the other teams roster and lineup card. It just seemed awkward for whatever reason.

I'd love for there to be a bidding war for my player if I got to the level where I was good enough. I also didn't like how the computer AI managed the game or the season. At one point, Aramis Ramirez was benched for Joe Crede with no mention of Ramirez being hurt (wasn't on the injury report... in fact nobody was). He was just moved down the depth chart. Also, if I'm able to choose my spot in the batting order, make it so I can move around the rest of the team as well. If I'm batting 2nd and want to move to 3rd where Pujols is, don't just move him up to 2nd.
Sorry for the random rant there! I loved My Player last year and played over 475 games in the mode. I created a SS last year for the Royals, but this year I might try a starting pitcher, an outfielder or maybe a 2nd baseman. Re: MLB 2K11 Official "My Player" Thread
I enjoyed My Player mode last year for the most part but there is alot of room for improvment. I read a few interviews online and they said they have tweaked the mode in many areas and a few other changes. Still no final word on what changes and additions they have made.
I will start out with two players first. My first will be a 2nd Base for the Houston Astros and my second player will be a Closing Pitcher for Houston. If they have a draft this year that will be nice because I loved in NBA2K11's My Player mode not knowing where I was going. Got drafted by the Wizards and got traded to the Celtics.
I can't wait to pick this game up Tuesday I'm ready for some baseball."Golf is a game that can't be won only played so I play I play on I play for the moments yet to come looking for my place in the field." - Jack LemmonComment

I didn't play 2k10, so I'm wondering if you can sim My Player games while you're in the minors until you get called up? I just want to start in the majors. It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

Re: MLB 2K11 Official "My Player" Thread
Picked it up at midnight. I started a My Player with a 2nd baseman for the Houston Astros. I only had time to play 3 games and did decent. I got 1 hit, a few walks, struck out only once. I ran in for one run and made a few put outs. Really I don't notice any changes from last years game so far on the field in My Player mode, but the menus and stat windows (home page) in the My Player are improved. I'll have to dive into this mode more tomorrow."Golf is a game that can't be won only played so I play I play on I play for the moments yet to come looking for my place in the field." - Jack LemmonComment
