Started in Double A. Pretty much the same as last year. Thrown into a game in the bottom of the 9th and you have to try and get a hit.

Re: MLB 2K11 Official "My Player" Thread

Hey guys I'm interested in picking the game up. If I do, I want to be an SS or CF for the Cubs. I do have one question though, can I change the fielder's view or cam? Is it hard fielding the outfield when you don't see first off where the ball is going?

Re: MLB 2K11 Official "My Player" Thread

I messed around with this mode last night. Created myself as a starting pitcher for the Royals. Feels a lot like last year, but a smoother feel to it. The menus are upgraded for the better. I finished 3 games and actually felt an accomplishment when I struck guys out. Each AB felt different from the last and each hitter had his own "feel" to them. Really, really tough to hit your spots with a 60 overall pitcher. I was missing the strike zone almost as badly as Rick Ankiel.

I'll probably start one as a fielder tonight, as that's what I spent the majority of my 'My Player' playing as in 2k10. See if it's any different than last year.

In My Player you field from behind the player looking towards the batter like you would in real life, so it's really easy to see where the ball is going.

You guys that are doing Pitchers, are you focusing on your initial two pitches first or adding more?

Im thinking about being a pitcher. If I was a pitcher, I would do a 4-seamer, a curve, and a changeup. I would work on them all equally.

As a Starting Pitcher, you start out with 3. I usually work on my Fastball and breaking pitch first, as a Changeup can still be effective at a lower level. I always add more speed to the fastball early as well as adding movement to the breaking pitch. I probably wouldn't add any pitches until you get your top two pitches up to about 75's across the stats. You always want one "go-to" pitch as well.
