Exactly what does this do? I already use the batter's eye strike box but I have tried the circle in the past but never have figured out how I am supposed to use it or what benefit there is in it.

Re: Batter's eye circle
The Batter's Eye reflects the real life Batter's Eye Tendency of the hitter. I look @ it as a hitters plate coverage. The eye usually changes in size I believe to recognize players with higher Eye Ratings.
Bigger/Higher Smaller/Lower
As the user you move the eye in the area in which you think the pitch is gonna be

Also; if you guess the location correctly you get to see the exact location and pitch type. You get a bonus for guessing correctly. There is no penalty for guessing wrong. You just simply dont get to see the pitch type and location.
At least thats how in worked in years past.Comment

I have a couple of questions about this:
There's a slider that you can set to whatever value you like, but do you have to enable some setting elsewhere for it to show up?
And do you have to select the region with the L stick prior to the pitching motion?
I generally try to avoid those kinds of aesthetic intrusions, but I'm cuirous to see how it works this year and if adding a little bit of it to my game might be fun.Comment

I believe the setting is under the controller setup. Once in that menu push down on the left joystick to get to that page.I have a couple of questions about this:

I turned it back off for 2 reasons. First, it distracts me pre-pitch. Second, once I had that magic ball icon pop up when the pitch was going where my "eye" was but the popup ball completely blocked out the ball, for a split second, that I was trying to hit and I totally lost sight of the ball.Comment

Re: Batter's eye circle
the slider is the hitters eye, thats the blue border around the strike zone
the black circle is the batters eye.
hitters eye is for picking up on what a pitcher is throwing of if they throw a fat pitch that was easily a mistake.
batters eye is just trying to guess where the ball is going to be, im not sure if you even get a power/contact bonus since this is just timing hitting, but knowing exactly where and what the pitch is going to be makes it 100x easier to hit.Comment

Okay, I'll check that out.
I like the idea of "locking on" but I find that it's tough to represent in a video game. Sounds like it's not entirely well done in MLB 2K, but I'll give it a shot for a game today.
Thanks for the feedback!Comment
