I'm not sure, but I believe contact hitter is the best route because you'll get a ton of hits (i.e. skill points) and get on base more which = more skill points. Then you can use those skill points to upgrade your power etc. I see no point in being a power hitting and hitting .260 with 3 HR and getting no skill points, when you can hit .340 with 0 HR and a ton of RBI's and build up your player quicker.
