Should I buy this game or not?I really want to play a baseball game of some sort. I know the reviews are terrible and I havent heard much good about this game, but I kind of want to get it but I dont want to waste my money. Im not picky when it comes to video games, as long as I can have fun with the game I'll be willing to play it. From everyones experience, is it WORTH buying this year? Are you guys having fun with it? I dont know what to do, so I need some advice. Should I get it or not?
 Thanks!Tags: None

Re: Should I buy this game or not?

I think pasta padre was way too harsh. I am having a lot of fun with this game, especially since I started using mkharsh's slider set as a base. The games are unpredictable and realistic. The game is not as pretty as the show, but it still looks pretty good and it is definitely fun to play.Comment

Re: Should I buy this game or not?

Comes down to this: If you liked 2K11, 2K12 is worth getting. If you're biased and have an anti-2K bug up your bum like some website writers, you're only going to be happy with something else.Comment

Re: Should I buy this game or not?

I bought this game in the interim until the show comes out with the first patch and I have to say it's been a fun and interesting change from the show.

I really do enjoy all the stat overlays and all the options it gives you to "scout" the opposing teams. The commentary is fantastic far and away the best for any baseball game I have played.

The only downside are the graphics and some framerate drops from time to time.

The game IS NOT close to as smooth as the show but it's very playable and fun.Comment

Re: Should I buy this game or not?

My opinion....based on my franchise 40 games in and playing every game, I never sim, I'm still constantly playing this game and have not been bored with it yet. On the contrary it seems to be the only game I want to play when I get the chance and I own both baseball games this year. Loving it and yeah, pasta constantly slams this game as if he has something against 2k and didn't give it a fair chance, I don't know, I usually enjoy his site but the MLB 2k bashing over there really bothers me cause I don't see the justification, I haven't had this much fun with a baseball game since MVP 05 and that is saying alot, if anything get it from red box for a nightOnly the truest Buffalonians know what it is to stick with your hometown teams. Eventually we will be rewarded with a Super Bowl or Stanley Cup Championship. The ONE thing I want to see most before i leave this world. What a day that would be.Comment

Re: Should I buy this game or not?

I just got it recently and agree with most of what has been said in this topic already. stat overlays and commentary are great, it's also fun to pitch in 2k more so than the other baseball game IMO.

the only bad things I've noticed so far is the fielding can be a bit wacky at times and the foul ball lag is annoying. fun game though overall.Comment

Re: Should I buy this game or not?

Thanks for the feedback everyone, I think im going to get it! I redboxed it for one night and I actually like it. You guys are right, most web writers are far too harsh and too picky. I think I will enjoy this game alot, being a huge baseball fan already.Comment

Re: Should I buy this game or not?

A lot of people want a video game to completely 100% mimic real life baseball. They'll even reference difficulty in regards to realism.

If they got a game as difficult as real life I wonder how much fun it would be that like 100-200 people in the world could actually hit on it.

Anyways, franchise mode is enough reason to give this game a chance. It's very deep.

I also have both games, and I am 30 games into my season on this one, and maybe 10 into my season on the other.Comment

Re: Should I buy this game or not?

Iverson, I personally would get it. The pitching mechanic upgrades alone make this a good buy. Play around with the sliders and you'll have a great time with it. Is it flawed? Yes but is it better then 2K11? Yes. My Yankees franchise is producing some pretty darn realistic stats and each game I've played, even the ones I lost have brought a smile to my face.

P.S, I enjoy Pasta's site but his hatred of 2K is like some's blind following of the other game. I learnt when he comes to baseball games, he's not the one to rely on (IMO)God Bless The USAComment
