Fielding Anticipation??

Any of u guys that have played the MLB2k series understand what the (fielder anticipation) mean?? I want too raise it too 99 on all players in my franchise, because i hate that one second pause when a runner heads home and the infielder just holds the ball and let him score from third, maybe this may help that glitch, but i dont really know what (anticipation) mean in the game. Anyone knows what it means, please let me know and if anyone has any other fixes for other issues like: players jogging too the ball in the outfield and AI pitcher & baserunning management, it would be highly appreciated. Thanks fellas!!!!!!

Re: Fielding Anticipation??

I believe the throwing hesitation glitch is purely an animation programming issue. What's going to happen if you raise anticipation to 99 is all fielders will be diving like crazy, and making web gems left and right. That's what I understand anyway.

BTW, this is one of the reasons I never pitch/field in this series, and only ever hit. I just can't deal with the many animation and gameplay issues that happen when fielding. When the CPU fields, the animations and plays look natural. I much prefer the game that way. It makes playing it pleasant rather than annoying.

Re: Fielding Anticipation??

I absolutely love pitching and playing the field. From moving my fielders around, to pitching around hitters, the game dos it all so realistically.

What I mean is, I'm not finding all that many runners scoring from third on groundballs. I've thrown my share out at home plate. Maybe it is because I pre-load my throw on bang-bang plays, but let my fielder gather it if I have time. Pre-loading increase the chances of an error or bad throw, but it also gets rid of the ball quicker.

I turn double plays, get the occasional lead runner on sacrifice bunts, and throw runners out at third from center and right field. If a pause happens, and I don't get him, I attribute it to ratings affecting the play and move on. A gold glove guy will make more plays than an average fielder.

The animations are not smooth, and some look ugly. But the execution is nearly spot on.

Why do you troll almost every thread like this -- continually taking personal shots at posters? Keep your comments focused on the game, period. And leave your unpleasant opinions of people out of it, they have nothing to do with the topic.

You're right. That line made you ignore 90% of the post. My bad.
