I am a noob at operation sports, but I can help you. Well, hitting takes timing and a little luck
1. Be patient, don't swing at the first pitch.
2. Well, for me anyway, when I know the opposing pitcher is about to throw a fastball inside I get ready, as soon as the ball leaves the pitchers hand. I go down on the right stick then flick up fast (takes practice) This can lead to some doubles, even triples. Inside the park home-runs as well if you're in a big ballpark and have Dee Gordon speed.
3. Another trick is to wait until the batter is ready to swing. When the pitch is coming at you. and the batter is ready to "react" to the pitch, flick up with the right trigger. This is a contact swing. However, this has got me some dingers at times.
4. don't worry about the home runs too much, play small-ball. Steal some bases, bunt at times, do anything to get on base. Try to take the low pitches and be defensive with low pitches with 2 strike counts. When the pitcher gets his composure rattled, then you may worry about the home run. because he'll make mistakes,
5. Last tip..you won't hit much home runs against the best pitchers. By the way.
