But given the chance, I think VC was on the cusp of making their MLB title as polished as their NBA games.

Just played another game today. The pitcher batter battles in this game are second to none. I faced Stanton, even though struggling in real life hahaha, I am Boston guy, screw you Yankees!, ok, rant over, every pitch I threw to him I was scared to death. 5th inning or so, I threw a 2-1 on the outside edge, but my guy missed the spot in the middle..........JACKED!

The majority of a real baseball is interaction between pitcher and hitter. Each ball in play takes between 3 and 6 seconds usually. But between those 3-8 seconds, sometimes can be 8-10-14 pitches if a pesky batter is fouling them off, only to hit a ground ball to 3rd, throw to first, 3.5 seconds in play. The the meat was the battle at the plate.

I do think 2k focused on the correct area of a sim game, but never really got those rough animations smoothed out. My edit helped but I think the overall look and clunkiness turned people off. Defense really just had to be good enough. But defense if average at best.

I am still enjoying it!

Got a question, I know this thread is dead and the game has been discontinued, but I still play it and use Inside Edge with the black circle in the strike zone. I was wondering what the different colored balls mean when pitched. Red, Blue, Green, Yellow and White?

red- means it will be easily recognized and most likely hit. you're using the pitch too much
green- is the most effective pitch
yellow- and white I think are neutral. with yellow trending towards the red.

Thanks for the explanation. I was talking in terms of hitting, not pitching. I've noticed though, that when I hit the red or green ball, it usually results in a out. Green doesn't necessarily mean you get a hit, or if I do, it's right at someone. Thanks again.

thats a batters eye feature. when you guess the location of the pitch youll get the colors.
the colors I think represent the speed of the pitch.
green is fast, yellow medium, red slow, white is you didnt guess the pitch correctly. so youll have no idea what speed to expect.

Thanks for the input. The game didn't come with any explanation on what those colored balls mean. This game has been discontinued, but I still enjoy playing it now and then. Again thanks...

This year Im actually playing 2k12 pc version alot.

Though both SMB2 and THe SHOW are solid, I Find that 2k provides a happy medium between the 2.
Super Mega Baseball 2 is too arcadey, to truly enjoy the experience on a daily basis. MLB THE SHOW' s presentation is too slow and bland, and actually makes it harder to get through a game on a daily basis.

2k12 and 2k13 are starting to appear as though they were underrated.

Where were you able to get a copy of 2K for the PC?
And what specs do you need to run it competently?
