Overall Color was also very good.

Gameplay was a mix between 2k7 and didn't have the ugly overlays that came with the "improved" analog controls...


So for me its basically the best as much as i loved 2k7 at the time and as much as i like 2k13 even.

I gave this game a shot again and am wondering if a re editor project should be in the works for it

I'm a pretty tolerant guy when it comes to games. I really did enjoy 2k9 but that amount of times my outflelder would set up under a routine fly ball and have it go through him was absolutely irritating.

The game had tons of good. BUt that 1 thing was a killer for me personally

That wasnt fixable through roster work or slider work though? Was it a isolated incident with only one outfielder since you played with one team or was it as a whole?

I also wonder what this game would be like downloaded off of xbox live?

Would it make it run any better ect?

Don't think it can be fixed. The outfielders don't get their gloves up in time and sometimes when they do the ball just flies right through them. It's infuriating.

2K11 was the first of the next-gen generation of 2K baseball games that was even worth purchasing. Any version prior to that was mostly just glitchy, buggy, broken junk. If you're the type who can forgive 2K's "post-NFL 2K commitment to crap!" and you don't mind tearing your hair out trying to get the game to work dammit and for the love of god don't freeze again, then knock yourself out playing their older baseball titles. But anyone serious about playing a decent, working game of baseball should pick up 2K11 or beyond.

Do yourself a favor forget consoles and get it for PC. I was thinking about getting it on steam.

I downloaded the demo for PC and your right the game does look great. The lighting is great also. I was interrested in a PC baseball game and reading the reviews from 2k9 to 2k10 the 1st comment the guy made was about 2k9 visuals being so good and alot better than 2k10. Except he said for the faces.

MLB2k12 with mods looks great also though (PC of course)

The PC version of 2K9 was very good looking. The cyber faces looked very good too. It was the versions that followed (2k10 thru 2K13) that had the poor zombie looking cyber faces. As for the fielding, a patch came out for the PC that allowed you to check off a setting which would lock the player in place therefore not allowing the goofy dropped balls.

I agree. For me, anything before 2k11 was unplayable. I liked 2k11 and 2k12 (and I'm a PS3 owner who also plays The Show).

I agree. For me, anything before 2k11 was unplayable.

Other than their basketball series, MLB 2K11 was the first 2K sports game in years that wasn't universally panned. If you didn't mind laughable stuff like players' uniforms flapping the wind like sails on a schooner, or glitched outfielders who weren't able to pick up the ball off the warning track, earlier versions of the game were okay, sure.

I am not crazy about the pitching interface in 9. The next year they brought it up to the current look. If they could have managed to put the best things together of 9-12 they would actually have a pretty decent game. Hands down the best pitching interface around.
