    Seriously, What Does This Mean!?

Nobody can seem to give me a concise answer.

When I am pitching, what does it mean when my pitches turn yellow and red? I was told it means that is what the batter is expecting. Would this in then tell them the pitch and location (IE. increase his batter eye for that pitch)

Also, why the heck does it sometimes turn yellow after one damn pitch? I use Wei-Yin Chin who has a Splitter that is 80+ (I am not sure what those numbers signify but it is high) and after throwing one splitter it turns yellow.

    What gives?

I don't use catcher pitch suggestion so this may not apply to you, but I see pitches turn red after the opponent gets a hit off of my pitcher on that pitch. The red means the pitch has lost effectiveness due to a loss of confidence in the pitch by the pitcher.

    I haven't seen yellow before.

The pitch can go green too (an increase in ratings) after you K a batter with a certain pitch.

Hmm I haven't noticed green. Is it perhaps because I only play online? This answer does make more sense than the others I've been getting. Thanks

No if the number turns green it means the pitch has been doing good and is now a temporarily better pitch, and if it turns red the opposite happens.

Now if the whole ball turns yellow, or red it means the hitter is expecting that pitch now (red is more severe) but considering you play online you can just completley disregard it as it means nothing for you.

        Hope I helped, Brett

Re: Seriously, What Does This Mean!?

Ya theres two different things when pitching..

          1. The numbers of the pitch will either turn green or red based off the success of that specific pitch.. so for example a pitcher has a 75 rated fastball to start the game.. he gives up a few hits in the early innings off that fastball he will start to lose confidence in that pitch.. and so you will see that number turn red as well as drop for a 75 to say a 69. On the other hand if you have a clean first 3 innings and happen to strike out say 3-4 batters on that fastball you will see that number turn green and improve to say a 79. This is obviously the case for every other pitch in the game as well.

          2. The other aspect is the use of the pitch and overall tendency to throw a specific pitch in a certain situation.. for example everytime you get up 0-2 you throw a splitter, the has a built in "smart" system i guess you can call it and it starts to pick up on that trend. So if you are throwing 1st pitch fastball's to every batter to start off the AB, the CPU will start to pick up on this and starting looking for a fastball to start off the AB.

This is also effected when playing other human users. So in your case for playing online, when you start to see the entire ball start to turn yellow or red that means the "hitter eye" for the opponent is more likely to appear and so they will get the hitter eye notification while the pitch is being delievered.

In the case of throwing 1 pitch and it starts to turn yellow already, im sure that usually happens later in a game and as i mentioned its basically the games way of telling you that in previous situations in that exact count you throw the same pitch, might not of been to the same hitter, but then again thats what makes baseball the sport it is... while the batter is up, you can bet the other players are watching in the dugout taking notes on what they are throwing to each batter in each situation trying to pick up on tendencies.

Basically all in all, be unpredictable and mix up your spots and pitch types.

My understanding is the pitch turns yellow meaning it's a pitch he doesn't throw much, like a splitter that in his pitch chart has a value of 1 or maybe even 3. The pitchers all have a pitch tendency, which seems to indicate how often they throw that pitch in a game, and I think you are supposed to replicate that to a degree.

The pitch may turn colors for other reasons mentioned. However, if you throw a pitch one time and it turns yellow, the only logical explanation that I see is it would be pitch tendency.

The pitch turns yellow because he doesnt throw it often. Eventually in the game if you throw too much of certain pitches Kruk will bring up the mixing pitches chart where it shows the percentage of pitches youve thrown, he'll call you out on if you use a certain pitch too much or to little. And for the increasing and decreasing numbers it is a very simple formula. A pitch will go down 1-2 points on a hit. A homerun or triple may take off 3 points. And for every payoff K with the pitch it will increase 1. This system is kind of stupid in my opinion because I rarely try to strike a batter out with a 4-seam, yet when i give up a couple of hits with it I can barely use it anymore.

I also don't care much for this system, just putting it in a polite manner
