Is he wearing a Rays windbreaker in your game?
I am having a couple of AI defensive problems at least in my PS3 version of the game. I applied Shogun's edits to all the teams not sure how it was before. I am seeing a lot of attempted diving catches go by the outfielders. Also a few too many wild overthrows by the CPU. In the last game I played one of the outfielders attempted to throw my hitter out at first base on a single. Not even close but the ball sailed over the 1st baseman's head. I don't recall seeing this many strange plays by the CPU in either 11 or 12.
