    MLB2K in 2022

So, when I have time, I boot up my PS3 and get in some 2K games. Usually NHL2K10 as in my opinion, it's still the goat. But recently I've been playing MLB2K10 and MLB2K11. I don't know why but recently I've especially noticed that these games have way more depth then I ever realised before. Maybe it's because I'm getting a little tired of TheShow and I'm paying more attention to 2K again.
Most of us know by now that 2K series, whether it's NHL or MLB, has so many gorgeous little things that are easy to miss but just leave me coming back and wanting more.
As I get older (late 30s) I've found that not only has my taste in games changed but also what I want out of a game has changed. When this comes to MLB and as the 2K series finished, I was already heavily into playing TheShow but as good as TheShow is, I've always missed the little things from the 2K Series.
At this stage I realise I'm rambling slightly but this 'longing' for playing 2K again has led me back to playing it regularly the last few weeks and MLB2K11 in particular.
So, to my main point, I truly didn't realise how deep this game is. In some respects, even more so than TheShow 21 is.
Now, I haven't made this thread to create debate and arguments over games but I'd love to hear from you about what you love/loved about the 2K Series.
Give me the little things, the big things.
Give me your fondest memories or best moments and highlights.
If like me and you're still playing (how ever often) shout it out.
It'd be nice to remember and remind eachother about the true gems.

For me, I love the rosters, detailed player attributes and Inside edge.
The depth of pitcher/hitter battle is vastly evident as is the depth of animations and the sheer detailed and accurate player models/bodies.
The amount of signature player style is also insanely detailed.
In short, I've stopped playing The Show 21 for weeks now...I've got out my Baseball Forecaster 2010, 2011, 2012 and I'm having a blast deep diving into the 2K series again.
    It's good for the soul.

The Presentation and commentary. Gary Thorne is the best in the business.

Matty V may be good in real life but in the Show he's terrible and bores me to death. Having him in the show contributes to the problem of people thinking that baseball is "boring". I wish they would have kept this series going and at least put some effort into it like they did with NBA 2K. If they had a studio setup similar to what NBA 2K15 and later NBA 2K games did with Ernie, Kenny, and Shaq but with MLB personalities I'd be over the moon unfortunately 2K never made the jump to PS4/XB1.

I also loved the presentation music

That 2K sports theme sounded like something you'd hear when your watching your team on any of the regional sports networks or even those primetime games on Fox. It gets you pumped up The show doesn't do the same for me.

Another good thing they did at least in 2k7-2k8 was show the stadium concourses.

I loved how they showed people entering and moving around the stadium and buying food. Made it feel like a real broadcast. Shame that they cut it out in the later games. I can only imagine how it'd look on today's consoles.

I also miss the stats and player cards. 2K is amazing at stat tracking.

I miss the fake MLB.com website

Are you still playing them mate?

I just can't get enough at the moment. I think I'm going to get 2k9 as well...probably not to play too much but more to fill a gap in my collection.

As an Os fan, having Gary commentate is a thing of beauty.

Nah not really I think I traded them all in when I got my PS4 years ago. Though I had 2K8 somewhere and lost it.

Another fun thing they had was the Trivia questions in between innings in 2K7.

Hey guys, who else is still playing any of the 2K series?
If like me you are still playing, why? What keeps you coming back? Is it the nostalgia, like playing with the old rosters and reliving old memories? Is it the gameplay and physics. Is it the commentary and presentation? Love to know your stories. I'm currently doing a blog on MLB2K10 and will get into these things.

I've mentioned this in other posts but it really is all the little things that 2K does right really does it for me.

It's great that we have The Show to play on current and last gen. They're great games in their own right but for me, my PS3 stays out and I'm either playing MLB2K10 or 11. I've got 12 and 13 as well but it's 10 and 11 for me as my go to. I just have such a blast. Everything feels organic and I never know what will play out game to game. It really is my happy place.
