As long as the Red Sox aren't back on their heals they'll win the division with little drama. The Yankees should be concerned more with the wild card at this point, as that is the more attainable (and realistic) goal.

Main point is...you really can't worry about either. All you can do is win, and the rest is out of your control. You can hope the Indians, Sox and A's all lose, but that shouldn't affect how you play everyday.

The math really isn't in our favor to win the division, it'll be nearly impossible unless we win like 17 outta the last 20 games or something insane.

I haven't been following the AL East standings much the last month or so, just watching the Wild Card. It'll take an amazing Sept. for us and a bad one for Boston for us to take the division.

But to be honest, I'd rather win the Wild Card and go play Chicago in the first round. If we win the division we'll prolly get worked by Anaheim in the first round anyway.

Exactly why I'm rooting for Cleveland to win the WC, since we'd get to play them instead of Anaheim.
