Steinbrenner summoned team executives to Tampa, Florida for a meeting Tuesday to discuss the direction of the club.

Among those attending will be general manager Brian Cashman.

eh, just Steinbrenner trying to light a fire under everyone....do the Yankees have any series with the D-Rays soon? It worked last time he got pissed, the Yanks played the D-Rays and torched them.

I don't understand this big meeting. They don't have regular meetings of the top brass anyways?

Its just silly drama. Something for the media to push.

Basically the meeting is just gonna say that the Yankees will incorporate Gene Michaels back into the equation. He's basically the man responsible for building the Yankee dynasty of the '90s. Cashman seems to get credit for some reason simply because he was there when they won, though Michaels laid most of the foundation.

I'd love to get him back, it seems that he can withstand some of the demands that Georgie makes and make some rational decisions (especially regarding the future), while Cashman seems to be his lil pawn.
