^ was one of the best reads about the Sox offseason.
So many people are putting it into panic mode already and saying the Sox had a horrible off-season, and are going to be so much worse next year. I just don't see it. As of right now, they still have Manny and Ortiz. They got rid of Edgar which will help the offense. Obviously losing Damon is going to hurt, but I still feel putting 52 million into him would've hurt the Sox almost just as much in the long-run.
Their pitching staff has actually gotten better, with Beckett, Mota, more expierence with papelbon, hopefully a healthier Schilling, Seanz.
And Lowell could put up some good numbers, the jury's still out on him.
The Sox off-season isn't over. i wont put it in Panic mode until we're falling behind in the playoff picture, or trade Manny away for absolute garbage.
