It was so bad last night. After seeing the Tribe score 5 runs in the first two innings then seeing the score at 5-3 after the 4th inning I said to myself, "they're going to lose this game 6-5."

This team has no leadership whatsoever. That's how you lose 7 of your first 16 games by one run.

I guess the good news is that the 3-5 hitters went a combined 8-15, 2 2B, HR, 4R last night. But Wedge will probably have a completely different lineup out there tonight. He's tinkering with it way too much and not giving players enough of a chance to settle into their roles.

It is disappointing, but its is only 16 games into the season, the Tribe didn't make their big push till very late in the season last year. With the starting pitching we have, and with VMart and Pronk starting to get hot, this team should be fine.

Re: Official Cleveland Indians Thread

we should be, but we need a new closer! We can't be but so hot with crappy back end bullpen pitching. Rhodes, Betancourt(SP), Riske, Howry, are all having great years so far, SS is pitching well, Davis and Wickman are the weak links right now.

Wickmans better days are behind him. Hopefully he will be gone by June.

It would have been great to get Benitez in the offseason. Having a good bullpen is vital to success. Shapiro and Wedge keep on saying that you have to build a bullpen from the end, meaning closer, then work forward. This is clearly going to be a tough thing to do when you can't get any consistency from the "closer" spot.

Oh my God! Five runs in the first on five hits! Let's hope they keep this going. Last night they started off fast, too but fizzled out.

Please get us a win, C.C.

and C.C. held it down tonight! Good game, I really think 5 runs a game would almost win us 3 out 5 games the rest of the way out.

And Riske, again, did the job. I don't know what was with him last year. It's too bad he didn't work out at the closers role.
