Oh I don't think that was the actual lineup. Judging by the last exhibition game where all starters played this should be the lineup -

Damon
Jeter
Matsui
Sheffield
A-Rod
Giambi
Posada
Williams
Cano

I'd flip Matsui and A-Rod though.

Re: The 2006 New York Yankees

I wouldn't mind having Matsui third and A-Rod fourth.

And also, I'd have Cano above Posada and Bernie, but I know how Torre loves to have a strong #9 hitter to help set the table later on in games when the top of the order comes up.

Anyway...

Tonight's the night!

The NCAA Finals are on but it'll be a snooze-fest. The Big Unit versus Barry Zito tonight. This is my first year out of college so I'll definately struggle to stay up and watch the game tonight. I'll give myself til 11:30 tops before I pass out.

I'm amped though, baseball season, the start of Spring, 65-70 degree weather in CT yesterday. I haven't been in sucha good mood in a while.

New York Yankees @ Oakland Athletics
10:05 PM (ET)

Preview

XCell's Prediction:
  • A's stump the Yanks in the conclusion of opening day(s).
  • Score: 6-2
  • Yanks had 11 hits... failed to score that much.

Hope the game doesn't get rained out. I've got baseball fever right now.

Failure to hit in clutch situations will carry over from '05, huh?

This is a new group... I'm gonna give em time... but I don't think we can declare the Yankees better than the A's in Oakland at this point of the season. We'll see how the season pans out... I have the Yanks still winning the division.

Thank God Lieber doesn't pitch for us anymore...doesn't look like he had much left in the tank.

Nice to see Giambi off to a good start.
