Common sense says take the over, but being an optimistic Yankee "homer," I'm hoping he can keep them in it and we can squeek one out tonite.

Big win today. Now we can kinda play with house money with Ponson. I hope he can at least keep it close.

Re: The 2006 New York Yankees

Seriously...like I said in the Sox thread...who the hell is going to pitch after Ponson's 3rd inning meltdown?

Beam- threw today
Villone- threw 42 pitches yesterday
Dotel- threw 22 pitches yesterday
Myers- threw 31 pitches yesterday...also threw today
Proctor- threw today

That leaves:

Brian Bruney- threw 17 pitches yesterday...plus he sucks
Farnsworth- cant go more than an inning
Rivera- is gonna have to be used for 2

I have a feeling Ponson will be left out to dry tonight if he struggles. Torre really screwed up yesterday by wasting Villone.

I'd take my chances with 9 innings of Ponson than putting Farnsworthless in the game.

You could see Jeters head was absolutely not in it after that happened.
