Wow... my bad... it took no time to adjust at all... this team is an offensive juggernaut... way too much for Zito to handle...

possibly better than the 1961 Yanks?

I think so.

Could this be the first Yankee team to get off to a good start in years?

We might be in for a treat all summer if that's the case.

Nice to get off to a good start. Unit looked good, and Arod's Grand Slam was big. The offense is gonna be great this year again. It's official: The Yanks own Zito.

Re: The 2006 New York Yankees

New York Yankees (1-0) @ Oakland A's (0-1)
10:05 PM (ET)
Last Game:
NYY - 15
OAK - 2

The Splits:
Yanks were 1st in the AL in AVG vs. Oakland in 2005

Prediction:
  • Yankees win 8-4
  • Rich Harden gives up 3 runs through 5 innings. His bullpen collapses.
  • Yanks give up 2 runs in the 9th, in a bigger blowout than the score suggests.
  • Mo Rivera gets to rest again.
  • Frank Thomas goes 0 for 3
  • Alex Rodriguez hits his 2nd homerun of the season.

Well, we did start 2-0 against Boston last year, and then were horrible the next few months.

But fun game last night. Hopefully we can get a good start by Moose tonight.

Yeah, I was referring to the first month or two, not a couple of games.

It seems like our offense and pitching are never insinc to start a season lately. Hopefully we can pull a wire-to-wire first place season again like the good 'ol days.

Re: The 2006 New York Yankees

The Yankees scored double figures in Runs 18 times last season, they scored 2 or fewer Runs 33 times last season, so 1 game does not a season make. If it did then i would vote Schilling for Cy Young award and Papi for MVP!.
