Re: The 2006 New York Yankees

Randy Johnson has been scratched from his last regular season start because of back spasms.

They expect him to be ready for the playoffs, and will probably pitch game 3.

He better be healthy. We can't afford another disaster like the game 3 he pitched last year.

I'm estatic that Torre is giving Wang the start in Game 1 of the ALDS. I thought for sure he wouldn't.

I'm totally shocked myself. I thought Mussina would get game 1.

The Big Unit doubtful for playoffs, could be a blessing in disguise.

Not when he's going to be replaced by Wright and Lidle.

Re: The 2006 New York Yankees

At least Mussina looked good tonight.

If him and Wang pitch how they are capable of, we will be fine with Wright going in game 3, and probably Lidle in game 4 imo. I think if they can go 5 or 6 innings, keeping us in the game, the offense should be able to compensate. I'd rather a healthy Randy Johnson, but he's been inconsistent all year, so it shouldn't be a huge loss.

The big worry is if Randy takes the ball when he's not healthy, and goes out there and pulls a David Wells or Kevin Brown.

I think Johnson and Lidle are a push right now.

Johnson has allowed 15 runs and 24 hits in his last three starts (24 IP). The guy has lost it.
