It just shows how weak pitching is in baseball. Guys have 1 good year and get paid. Every year very medicore pitchers get paid a ton of money.

Yes, very true. On a side note, one pitcher to look forwad to getting huge bucks in the offseason is Jason Schmidt. He looks back to his oldself and has been on this year. Should get huge and I mean huge money if he keeps it up. Yanks could come calling.

I also think with Jaret Wright's signing was in part hoping that he'd stay healthy and return to his form of '97 and that era, when he was nasty for a while.

Obviously it was wishful thinking and an awful signing, IMO.

Not really how weak baseball is, just how inflated the market is.

Kris Benson and the New York Mets can be thanked for that one.

Woohoo!

Finally got Ortiz out in a big situation, Rivera with the save, nice play by Jeter to end it.

Manny killed us this series, but he is on my fantasy team, and we took 2 out of 3, so not too bad.

On the negative side, Randy Johnson still sucks.

Great win tonight and great series win. Coming into the series I didn't like our chances going by the pitching matchups, but that's why you play the games.

Still Randy is going to be a problem we need to get him straightened out! I'm sure as each of Randy's starts go by the Clemens phone rings more and more.

Clemens isn't the answer either he is 43 and I doubt he will pitch at the same level he pitched last year. They need to get a younger pitcher in a hurry, maybe Willis from Florida, but they don't really have anything to offer for anybody.

I know I won't be celebrating if Clemens signs.

I was listening to Mike and Mike and I agree with what they said, if Prior is available Yanks should go after him. There is no doubting when he pitches, he is one of the best. Maybe a change of scenery will stop those nagging inj. It would be better than giving Clemens 20mil for a year.
