He most likely will be. Pavano will probably start the year on the DL, Jaret Wright seems destined for the Bullpen and Chien Ming Wang has an ERA of over 13.00. A pitcher make a good case for himself is Scott Erickson. Erickson has no ERA and 5 K's in 3 innings.

It's the spring training stats that get you on the team, how you perform after decides if you stay on the team.

Spring training means nothing for the Yankees because basically all 25 men are already determined. Erickson is playing to get on another team or to be one of the first guys called up if injuries happen.

Unless he completely gets shelled the rest of spring training, he is in no danger of not making the team.
