Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006

I think BB pretty much sums up tonight.

Anybody else just tired of Matt Clement being a giant marshmellow? Maybe it's that he's a geeky looking kid, but I just don't feel like he's a "win at all costs" athlete. John Smoltz, Curt Schilling, and similarly Jonathan Papelbon...these guys are gamers. Matt Clement, not so much.

Yeah, I agree. He pitches like a frightened turtle. I can't stand watching him pitch, even when he is pitching effectively. I just don't like anything about his approach. It's too bad Wells is hurt otherwise Clement probably isn't pitching right now (he'd probably be on the DL with a phantom injury).

I wish we just had someone else to throw out there other than Clement.

Seriously...anyone would be better than him.

Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006

That'd give us...4 starters. Lester as the 5th, maybe?

Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006

Yup, Lester is in the rotation now. I don't think either Lester or Pauley is a saviour or anything, but just having someone competent at the end of the rotation who can keep the team in games is all the Sox need. Clement can't even do that at this point.
