Very nice outing from Lester, certainly helped out the Sox.

And...we drafted Papelbon's little bro? That's awesome.

The Braves lineup really isn't that bad, especially against right-handed pitching. Giles hasn't been good at the top of the order this season, but after him they have some quality bats. That lineup they put out there last night though was horrible.

Lance Cormier though, yikes. I'm not going to say the Red Sox are going to clobber him, but they should.

Granted I'd rather face him than Radke or Silva, but still....

We have a knack of making horrible pitchers look like Cy Young conteders...especially the past few days...

Yeah, thats why I said they should instead of would.

Good win today. Beckett started off well then reverted back to the Beckett we've been seeing a lot of this year as he command abandoned him and he overthrew a lot. His last inning of work may have been his best though as he mixed his pitches up well and started getting his curveball over consistently. The offense did enough to win as well, though they did leave far too many guys on.

Tomorrow's matchup should be good, Schilling vs Smoltz. I'm already getting pumped for that one.
