Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006

That was an excellent outing by Lester. Yes it was against a poor hitting team but he dominated a poor hitting team like he should. And with the way the offense has been swinging lately its kind of a shame that Thursday is an off-day. Hopefully they remain hot going into the weekend series with the Phils.

I hate off days. The Sea Dogs are on NESN though. I went to a few games up there last year and it was a blast.

I'm watching the Astros game, Clemens is done but Liriano is still in. To put it bluntly, this kid kicks ***.

Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006

Not sure if I posted this before, but I have this to say:

If the fans boo Pedro Martinez when he takes the mound against the Red Sox next week, I pretty much will 'renounce' my Red-Sox fandom. I probably have an irrational love for Pedro, as he was and still is my favorite player ever, so I feel very strongly about this. If the group of swine in the stands chooses to boo arguably the greatest starting pitcher ever for the Boston Red Sox, I really have no need to be associated with that group of people.

I don't care that he left for more money, or was greedy or whatever half cocked reasoning comes up. The Red Sox are not even close to where they are today in terms of popularity (and there is no way in hell they win the World Series in 2004) without Pedro Martinez pitching. It's that simple.

Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006

Yankees aside, Pedro is more deserving of boo's than Damon was. Damon wanted to retired with the Red Sox, Pedro just wanted to use them to get more money/years out of the Mets and then once he did, wouldn't shut up about it.

Still, he shouldn't hear any boo's at Fenway. It is my belief that during 1999 and 2000 we saw a pitcher on the mound who was hands down the most dominating pitcher to ever play the game and we may never see anyone better. Plus he's a great character, the game is better with a dominant Pedro. I still wear my Martinez jersey proudly.
