Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006

Here goes Thom Brennaman with his soap box. Whats with Fox broadcasters wanting to get on a soap box? I honestly think Manny hit that ball and had no idea where it went. And when Manny does "pose" he usually doesn't drop the bat like that, where as I've seen him lose his bat when fouling off pitches.

Manny is right up there with Arod in taking unwarranted criticism. Seems like people can find something wrong with pretty much everything he does.

I agree. The only difference is that the fans seem to cheer for Manny no matter what while the fans in New York tend to side with the media. Manny has done stuff in the past that deserve criticism (the Tampa incident comes to mind) but mostly he plays the game just like anyone else.

Big double play to end the inning there. Decent job by Tavarez, got 2 ground balls with runners on base.

That looked like a B/S call at first saying Ortiz came off the bag. Of course it comes back to get them. This team doesn't make many errors, but when they do it seem like they're costly. Oh well.

Poor defense in this game has really hurt the Sox. Too bad, because Gabbard kept them in it.

Game over, M's win. Hopefully Lester can continue his strong pitching and get a series win for us tomorrow. He'll be going against Washburn who has not been very good this year.
