I just tuned back in after Entourage...guess that'd be a good way to weed out this rumor.

I couldn't spot him, but we didn't get many opportunities. If something has happened, we'll hear about it pretty soon I would think. I'm thinking that guy on SoSH is full of it because I would think the Globe or WEEI (or ESPN for that matter) would be all over it if Loretta left the ballpark early.

Wells has been activated and Corey has been called up to take their place.

So the Sox did nothing today. I'm really not dissapointed at all as I didn't see any deals worth making for this ball club. We'll see if Wells is the answer tonight and if he can come back that will be big for this club. At least Schilling is happy today he doesn't have to face Julio Lugo anytime soon.

I'm not surprised or disapointed either. Theo basically said they came close on a lot of things but nothing that actually worked without sacrificing the long term plan (ie Lester/Hansen/Delcarmen)

Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006

I'm actually slightly surprised that either Loretta or Lowell didn't get moved...but not disappointed either. Plus, both will reap first rounders and sandwich picks in the next two years when we let them walk. I think with all the rumors centered around the Sox working with multiple teams on multiple deals, I just had a feeling Theo would pull out something huge when we were all told that not much is out there. But apparently all that effort led to a frustrating conclusion for the FO.

I have to admit...when I heard Andruw Jones's name at work today - my favorite player since his rookie season - my face lit up! But hearing the asking price, it was a no brainer to say no. If it was centered around Coco, Hansen, and someone of lower caliber, I'm all over it. But combine those guys with Lester and there's just no way. Too bad, that would have been a dream for me.
