Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006

Great game by Gabbard tonight..Timlin looked good...great defense...

And right now it appears Papelbon's arm is just severely fatigued, but no tears were reported.

That's huge news. It wasn't sounding good leading up to the MRI and I'm relieved its nothing serious.

Gabbard pitched well again. He's throwing his name into the hat for starter next year, especially if Lester can't go coming out of spring training.

Nice prediction, Nostradamus.

Yeah, your right. I was wrong. The Yankees eliminated you guys from playoff contention weeks ago.

So are they planning on just shutting him down for awhile or what?

And what's the plan with him, do they still want to eventually make him a starter?

Yes, I'd be surprised if he pitches again this year. He needs rest and then needs to strengthen his shoulder before pitching again.

I'd like to see them make him a starter, but not sure what they'll decide.

And the Red Sox are doing the same to the White Sox, with the likes of Julian Tavarez and Kason Gabbard no less.

Beckett needs to throw a perfect game next time out before Sox fans end themselves.
