With Crisp going on the DL, that'll be the open spot.

Man, that's rough. He was off to a nice start. Despite being a Red Sox, I like watching this kid play even in Cleveland, so it sucks to see him go out.

Any chance Mohr will get some playing time?

Actually Wells will still take Dinardo's spot. Mohr will probably be called up or Harris to fill Crisp's spot.

I hope Stern gets the chance to play everyday now. He's Canadian.

I'm really looking foward to the home opener on Tuesday.

Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006

Coco and his hands continue to plague him. In 2005, Coco fractured his thumb I believe, and was reported to be out for 3-4 months. As it turned out, he was only out for about 2 weeks and the injury healed far better than expected. He went on to have a very solid year production wise.

Now in 2006 he is going through some sort of knuckle problem? I'd like to hear some official word from the team before thinking about alternate solutions, but it should go without saying that this licks donkey nuts. Fortunately, this team is deep and won't throw in a Tony Womack caliber player out there. I can live with Adam Stern for a while, though not leaeding off. Other options would include Wily Mo in center and Dustan Mohr.

Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006

I'd like to see Stern get the bulk of the PT now. With some sprinkling of Pena in when needed.

It'd be good to really get a look at Stern to see exactly what he is. Since he's had that Rule V rules tag on him we haven't really been able to see much of him. If Tito is going to stick him at the leadoff spot more, I hope he learns to take more pitches.
