They played about as complete a game as I think we may see, solid all around. It sucks to see the potential of this team to dominate, but the fact that they don't. If they consistently played like they did today they would be rivalling the White Sox and Yankees, instead of being midle of the road.

It's called mediocrity.

...and having a manager who should be managing in AAA.

If Reed gets 10 PA over the next two days, or 7 today (you never know) he qualifies for the batting title.

Stellar performance by the pen blows a great outing by Marcum. Sure the offense was dominated, but we had done enough to win until Shoenweiss came in. (I resisted the urge to call him Chokenweiss.) I was regretting the inevitable leaving of Speier and Schoenweiss, but yesterday and today are making me regret that.

By the way, is anybody sorry we didn't trade League or Accardo for Lugo to help us not make the playoffs anyways?

Jays have now won 4 of 5 after dropping 7 straight. A good one tonight helps gain some ground, although its virtually impossible to make it now anyways.

Look on the bright side, they have a realistic shot to finish second in the AL East.

You know, if the Jays catch fire and play great baseball from here on out then that west coast trip is going to look awfully huge in terms of its impact.

The starting pitching is going to have to be lights out for the time being as some of our bullpen guys are hurting right now. It'll be interesting to see how things go.

I'm not going to allow myself to get caught up in this mini run. If I do, I'll be let down. I know they'll come tumbling back down to earth sooner or later.

Dammit, they just had to be .500 during that road trip.
