awesome game. The Braves have got to have lots of confidence right now with all these wins they have been pulling out.

Re: 2006 Atlanta Braves Discussion

Torn groin for Davies.

Lerew was called up from AAA.

EDIT:

Quote:
Davies was placed on the 15-day disabled list and the Braves recalled right-hander Anthony Lerew from Triple-A Richmond. Lerew will give Atlanta an extra pitcher in the bullpen until Saturday, when the team will likely call up Travis Smith from Richmond to take Davies' scheduled start in Arizona.

McCann is just an amazing hitter. The way he fought off pitches and then gets a single was great.

He just doesn't have bad AB's... they're all quality.

He gets a sac-fly here, 2-0 Braves in the 3rd.

For my money he's one of the best receivers in the NL as well behind Matheny and Yadier...so minus Ausmus who's having a career best start with the bat, this kid's the real deal on both ends which is hard to find. Couple his natural ability with the way he handles the staff and calls the game at his age...

He is so much better than Estrada. I was talking to Bill Shanks (author of Scout's Honor) at one of his book signings in Birmingham last August and he told to me that Smoltz and Hudson had even commented on what a quality game manager McCann was, midway through his rookie campaign. I'm sure he's only gotten better now.

Re: 2006 Atlanta Braves Discussion

Surprised Smoltz came out for the 8th, he's closing in on 120 pitches. But then, with our bullpen...

Bases loaded, nobody out for the Marlins...

Deep sac-fly makes it 2-1.
